“My 90 year old mum regularly spills her drink, and finds a china mug heavy ( before dropping it). A straw helps a little but she has to "chase " it around the rim of the cup. Spouted mugs help a little but she associates them with toddlers and thus finds them demeaning. Also, one has to tilt mug to quite a steep angle to get liquid into a spout, and her neck flexibility isn't great..So she prefers the non spouted lid on this mug. One side has two small holes that she can just drink from like a normal cup ( no spout), and the other side has a hole for a straw. Sports Direct does a great packet of 4 metal straws, very good value.”
